Meet my boy, Toby. He’s my handsome, spoiled Pembroke Welsh Corgi. It’s been over 2 years since I got him and he’s been the apple of my eye ever since.
The story of how I ended up with a corgi is pretty simple: I always wanted a dog of my own, so when I made the decision that I’m definitely ready to have one, this breed was the only one I considered. I guess I should thank my boyfriend’s sister for introducing the wonderful corgis to me. She’s always been a fan of the breed, so I ended up falling in love with them, too.
So… I started looking for corgi breeders. I know I didn’t search for “Illinois corgi breeders”, because the breeder where I found Toby was located in Missouri. But I think that fate took me to her website and there I found the cutest, most adorable puppy ever! Needless to say, once I saw Toby’s baby pictures, I knew he was “the one” and didn’t even bother to look at other puppies. I talked to the breeder on the phone on a Tuesday and by Saturday we took the long, 13 hours, round-trip to Missouri.
I was so excited and scared at the same time, but when I held the little bundle of joy in my arms for the first time, I knew I made the right decision. In the beginning he was scared too, I could see it in his eyes, everything was new to him, but in less than 2 days spent with me and my boyfriend, he started feeling comfortable and wanted to be around us all the time.
Looking back, I realize now that he was such a good puppy, he never cried and he learned pretty quit where he’s supposed to do his “business”. I am so proud of him and I love him with all my heart.
I hope you enjoy the pictures of him!
