Nathan C. wanted a Corgi ever since he was a kid. His wish came true about 2 years ago, when he and his wife got a Corgi puppy from a breeder in Lewisburg, WV.

Hoss is very intelligent, has a great personality and is very well trained. He loves going fishing with Nathan, getting in the water and splashing around. He gets excited and jumps in any mud puddle he finds! He loves playing fetch, going for walks, and loves to play with other dogs, too. Also, he has been a great friend to Nathan’s wife, keeping her company during his deployment in Afghanistan with the Army.

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, Hoss! Thanks for sharing your buddy with us, Nathan!

I’d like you all to meet Bugsy! He’s 3 years old and lives with his mom, Carole K., in Germantown, WI. Carole named her Corgi Bugsy because his big ears reminded her of Bugs Bunny’s ears. Also, the little black around his muzzle makes his face look a little dirty, sort of like a gangster, Bugsy Siegel. He even went as Carole’s little “convict” to a Halloween party at their local humane society!

Carole got a Corgi because when she was looking for a new canine companion, her vet suggested her to look for a smaller dog, because she lives alone and works during the day. His theory was that smaller dogs more often, but not always, adjust to being alone easier than bigger dogs. Carole never wanted a little dog, as they always seemed too “yappy” for her, so she went on a website and took a quiz about her circumstances, likes and dislikes, etc., and Pembroke Welsh Corgi came up as the first recommendation for her. That site was so right!

One of Bugsy’s favorite things is to go for walks around the neighborhood with his mom, even in the cold in Wisconsin, but never in the rain. He also likes going to the doggy daycare close to Carole’s office, where he enjoys playing with his friends, especially his best friend, Tibby, a little white Chihuahua. They are inseparable when they are there together. In the spring, Bugsy also loves chasing bunny rabbits in the yard. He scares the poor little things to death, but he just wants to play with them.

Bugsy loves all kinds of treats, but has a bit of a sensitive tummy, so no more rawhide or smoked bones for him. His favorite chew now is a piece of antler that Carole’s sister bought him, and he can gnaw on that without breaking off little pieces to swallow. It must taste pretty good because he chews on the antler an awful lot.

Bugsy is a joy to be around, and Carole hopes that when she retires in a few years, she’ll be able to get Bugsy a little Corgi sister. In the meantime, it’s just the two of them taking care of each other.

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, Bugsy! Thanks, Carole, for sharing your boy with us!

Nikki’s family lives in Pittsburgh, PA, and is owned by two wonderful Cardigan Welsh Corgis, Kirby, the red boy and Betty, the brindle girl. They are half-siblings, and together they run the house, second in command only to the cat.

When she was in college, Nikki H. used to work for a veterinarian who owned a Cardi. That was Nikki’s first experience with a Corgi, and she knew she wanted one in her life eventually.

Kirby came into Nikki’s life when he was a puppy, and now is 6. He is independent and prefers to go his own way, but never turns down a good nap on your lap. He is Nikki’s red shadow, and hates to be left out of fun. He loves to play tug-of-war and adores cheese.

Betty is the nosy house manager, and she manages to get involved in everything that happens. She’s bossy and protective and her loyalty is absolute. She was a show dog before living with Nikki and her family, and they had to teach her how to behave like a family pet, instead of a diva. She’s 4 years old now, and after two years with her new family, she enjoys getting muddy and playing keep away with her toys.

Chip is just over 1 year old and he’s a handful. He lives in Wichita, Kansas with his dad, Tommy C., who wanted a Corgi because they’re a cute breed, first of all, and second of all, they’re not a very recognizable breed yet. People who meet Chip think he’s adorable, and the most frequent question Tommy gets from people is “What kind of dog is he?”.

Tommy has Chip since he was just a tiny puppy, at 8 weeks old, so they’ve gotten a chance to grow pretty close. He’s been fetching since the day Tommy brought him home, and so he loves his ball and he loves playing tug-of-war with his toys, although he can tear up a toy pretty quickly. Chip also loves peanut butter, and unfortunately for him, he’s too short and can’t get to the peanut butter jar, even if Tommy leaves it on the table.

Sometimes, Chip and his dad have little conversations with each other. Chip’s a pretty vocal little guy, and has lots of different kinds of barks and whines, so he keeps Tommy entertained!

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, little guy! Thanks for sharing Chip with us, Tommy!

Samantha Jane is 10 years old and lives with Kathryn S. in upstate NY. Kathryn fell in love with Corgis a few years ago, when she saw a pair of Corgi puppies at a dog show in mid-Hudson Valley, where she lived at the time. Years later, one of Kathryn’s colleagues at work bred her Corgi and was chatting about the puppies. Kathryn went to see them and fell in love again. She had to have one.

Samantha Jane is very smart, cute and a great company. She loves to swim, go camping and go for car rides. She is best when she has her mom all to herself and doesn’t have to share Kathryn’s attention with the other dogs in the house, a Bernese Mt. Dog and a Golden Doodle. Otherwise, she’s bratty and demanding and barks way too much.

She is the queen and rules the roost. Everyone in the house is her minion. Samantha Jane is also known as Sammy-the-Bone, partly because she’s the boss and partly because she has a bone-shaped figure. Like all Corgis everywhere, she loves food. Any kind, and as much as she can get.

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, Sammy-the-Bone! Thanks, Kathryn, for sharing her with us!

This is Wilson, a smart and beautiful tri-colored Corgi from Long Island, NY. He was not even 2 years old when cancer, unfairly, took him away from Shannon and her family. Even though the family only had a short time to spend with him, he was really loved and spoiled, and they are missing him everyday.

Wilson was loving and full of life. He could play for hours, and loved to go to horseshows and watch his two brothers, Shannon’s two horses. He made his family smile everyday.

Shannon misses Wilson so much, but has recently found consolation by giving all the love she had to offer to Wilson’s half brother, Rebel. He’s only 13 weeks old, and is a sweetheart. He loves to give kisses, he’s very playful and would rather play with soda bottles than his actual toys.

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, Rebel and Wilson! May you rest in peace, Wilson! Thank you for sharing your Corgis with us, Shannon!

Foxy is a sweet little thing and she has the cutest butt ever! She has a kind personality, and has very much bonded with Becky. Foxy’s also a pistol at times (when she’s not sleeping). She loves her squeaker toys, and actually has been retrieving a little, already.

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, sweet Foxy! Love your pink toes! Thank you for sharing your fur-baby with us, Becky!

Bullet has a loving nature and he’s very gentle. He’s extremely friendly with Hellene’s kids, and he also gets along very well with the family’s senior Golden Retriever. Bullet loves swimming and chasing after balls. He likes to follow the children everywhere, yet he always makes sure he’s not too far from Hellene.

He also loves his food and treats. He enjoys his usual dog biscuits and the Tucker Time (a health food for pets), but his favorite treat is the raw meat bone which Hellene buys especially for him.

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, Bullet! You’re so lucky to have a family that loves you! Thank you for sharing Bullet with us, Hellene!

Rigger is almost 1 year old and he lives with his mom, Sara D., in Texas. He is a joy and a blessing, and his family couldn’t imagine their life without him.

Sara fell in love with Corgis about 2 years ago, after her Zumba teacher brought her tri-colored Corgi to the class several times. She just loved his cute personality and decided to own one, too.

Even though Sara lives in an apartment, Rigger gets lots of exercising, and he gets to take many trips to see his cousins at the farm, where he loves to play outside and explore the pastures. He also loves to play with the baby goats and explore the peanut fields.

Rigger likes the cool weather the best, and he really enjoyed the cold front that hit Texas a few months back. He’s a really sweet little guy, and Sara is thinking of getting Rigger a friend, but she wants to enjoy her boy for a while, until the time is right to get another one!

Welcome to Corgi Dogs, cute Rigger! Thanks for sharing your boy with us, Sara!
