Foxy, the Corgi Who Got a Second Chance at Life

18 November 2011 ~ 1 Comment

This is the story of Foxy, Julia’s 7-year old Corgi. She became Julia’s “baby” by accident, when she was just 10 weeks old. At that time, Foxy was owned by another person, who wanted to put her to sleep because she was deaf. Julia’s boyfriend saved the poor puppy, instead, and brought her home.

Before meeting Foxy for the first time, Julia had no intention on keeping her, but once she saw the little ball of fluff pitter-pattering into the kitchen, she was in love. Miss Foxy has been a blessing for Julia ever since, and quickly became part of the family.

Being deaf is not an impairment for Foxy, and she doesn’t let her condition bring her down. She’s very vocal and smart, and pays attention to everything around her. Up until last year, she enjoyed the company of her friend, a black Lab, who was her ears, but sadly, he passed away.

Foxy loves to go for walks and wherever she goes, “she is always super popular”, Julia’s son says. She also likes being around people, especially kids, and she is very fond of dirty socks. Foxy has a favorite game, as well, and some mornings she won’t give her Mommy any peace until she plays with her. The game, “Monster”, involves Julia chasing Foxy around the house like a monster, with her hands in the air. Foxy absolutely loves this game, and she’s always running “crazy dog style” around the furniture.

Thank you, Julia P., for sharing your Corgi with us!

OMG he is a GIFT. Deafness and blindness are not impairments on any dog. We, humans, have different perceptions than dogs do. Dogs are smarter than humans. They are full of unconditional love. Thank you, Julia. My little bugger passed on.
